Tourism and agriculture have always been the backbone of Florida's economy. Primarily people flocked to our shores to escape cold northern winters, but weather was not the only reason. It seems there is something in our natural spring water and there's plenty to go around as Florida has more springs than any other place on earth. In the Gilded Age, it was promoted heavily like some kind of magical elixir to heal almost any disease, from Typhoid to TB.
